Step 2: Building Low Hanging Support Team

The successful implementation of DiscipleSoft will require your church to organise teams to work on the 4 critical functions. Since the Functional Leaders have been selected, the next step is for them to select people who will help them with executing the deliverables for their functions. This is probably the most important responsibility of each functional leader.

The team-building process can take a considerable amount of time. However, during onboarding, the functional leaders should only focus on enlisting the support of individuals who can quickly engage with the outlined milestones. This means each functional leader should identify a few individuals to help them with their specific milestones. At a later stage, the functional leader can expand their teams beyond the small teams they have built during onboarding. These small teams are considered “low hanging” in the sense that the leader selects people whom they can convince within a short period of time. We all have experience with people who take a lot of time to convince and will more likely delay the onboarding progress.

5 Steps After Selecting a Support Team Member

Once you have made your selection of the appropriate person to be a support team member for any of the 4 functions please do the following,

  1. Talk to the individual about your intention to make sure that they are available for the role
  2. Get their email address
  3. Add their details using the Onboarding App, they will automatically receive a welcome message to their email
  4. Send them the Support Team Onboarding Quick Guide
  5. Send them the link to join the WhatsApp group
